Ninth Wave wax has a unique membrane technology that prevents the elements in the wax from separating under extreme weather conditions. The tackifyer that is used for grip is the most expensive available. The wax stays white longer, does not run off in direct sunlight and does not attract algae and other particles from the ocean (which is why other waxes turn black over time). As the wax is melted and mixed in the tackifyer, it binds and creates a membrane, which stops any leaching into the ocean.

Ninth Wave wax is 100% biodegradable. FOOD GRADE and PHARMA GRADE products are used in this wax. The food grade ingredient replaces Petroleum Jelly that a majority of other wax manufacturers use as a softening agent. The pharma grade ingredients are similar to those used in skin products. All of its individual elements are inert, non-reactive and safe. This wax lasts at least 6 times longer than some other waxes, which helps minimise wastage, and is made with the highest-grade products available in order to do the right thing by the environment and surfers.
Ninth Wave wax doesn’t require constant topping up or fluffing between rides meaning less wax is used over longer periods of time, thus surfers are consuming less of the product because it is more efficient and effective at its job of keeping them on the board.
